Guide to Graded Safes

Before you buy a safe, it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the grading system that shows a safe’s ability to withstand attack. Our range of High Security Safes from Valberg of Grade 1 to 5 are all independently tested and certified in accordance with European Standard EN1143-1.

How Does The Grading System Work For Safes?

Each safe is subject to a series of tests before it can be certified and granted an EN1143-1 status.

The highest rating, Grade 5, means that the safe has the greatest level of resistance in the event of an attack, whereas a Grade 0 rating indicates less resistance. However, this does not mean that safes that have Grade 0 ratings are not worthy of your attention. In fact, they are great for home usage and the storage of cash and valuables. Essentially, the grades are created to help you make an informed decision so you can select the right product for your home or business.

Safe Evaluation
Along with a grade, a cash rating is also assigned which indicates the cash amount it was created to protect. Valberg Safes Has it All… Certified & Made in Bulgaria…

It goes without saying that you should always insure the contents of your safe, which is where the cash rating comes into play. Your coverage depends on the grade of safe.

Each grade has the following ratings:
Grade 1– cash rating of £10,000 and a valuables rating of £100,000.
Grade 2– cash rating of £17,500 and a valuables rating of £175,000.
Grade 3– cash rating of £35,000 and a valuables rating of £350000.
Grade 4– cash rating of £60,000 and a valuables rating of £600,000.
Grade 5– cash rating of £100,000 and a valuables rating of £1m.

As you can see from the grades, if you store valuables as opposed to cash, all you have to do is multiply the cash rating by 10 if you want to find out the rating for them.

Why buy one?
These insurance approved safes are so much more than glorified steel boxes – they’re a reason for you to sleep better at night, a weight lifted off your shoulders, a stress and anxiety reliever.

Don’t hold on to this feeling of unease, constantly fretting that your most valued goods aren’t protected well enough, and simply invest in something that’s going to provide more than enough protection.
